Alex James Heyen, Broker/Owner of Flatwater Realty LLC, was born and raised in the small farming community of Giltner, Nebraska, where he grew up working on his family’s farm and embracing the values of hard work, humility, and community that rural Nebraska is known for. After graduating high school, Alex attended the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, becoming a lifelong Huskers fan, loyal through every high and low, even as the team continues striving to recapture the glory of the 1990s.
Professionally, Alex has built a strong reputation in both real estate and lending. Working with Flatwater Realty and West Capital Lending, he has established himself as a trusted resource for homebuyers, sellers, and investors throughout the Midwest. His dual experience in real estate sales and mortgage lending gives his clients a significant advantage, allowing him to guide them seamlessly from financing to closing with clarity, confidence, and a personalized approach.
Alex served as the South Shore Heights HOA President from 2013–2017 and was recognized for his ability to unify the neighborhood with his common sense suggestions and fiscal responsibility. He currently serves as the Vice President of the Fountainebleau HOA in PCB Florida.
Today, whether he’s spending time with family, cheering on the Huskers, or helping others through his work in real estate and lending, Alex’s life is rooted in the values he learned growing up on the farm — hard work, integrity, and a deep appreciation for the communities he calls home.
